The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially released the final result of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2025 on 6 March 2026. Candidates who appeared in the interview round can now check the final merit list on the official website of UPSC
This result is based on the combined performance of candidates in the written examination (Mains) and the Personality Test (Interview) conducted by the commission.

Total Candidates Selected
UPSC has recommended 958 candidates for appointment to different civil services such as:
- Indian Administrative Service (IAS)
- Indian Police Service (IPS)
- Indian Foreign Service (IFS)
- Various Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ Central Services
These selections are made against 1,087 vacancies announced for this recruitment cycle.
Additionally:
- 258 candidates have been kept in the reserve list.
- 348 candidates are provisionally recommended.
- Results of two candidates are currently withheld
Examination Process
The Civil Services Examination is conducted in three stages:
- Preliminary Examination
- Main Examination
- Personality Test (Interview)
The Mains exam was held in August 2025, and the interview round took place between January and February 2026 before the final result was announced.
